VISUAL DESIGN PROGRAM
Located at 725 N. Oriental Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, on the historic and beautiful Arsenal Technical High School campus, part of the Indianapolis Public School District. Join us this year as we celebrate 100 years of excellence in education.
Visual Design is a professional, two year career technology course. Students are in class for two hours each day, five days a week. Beginning design students will learn the fundamentals of graphic design, the design process, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. Students will also learn about digital photography, video game design and iMovie.Students will create projects using a variety of sources: in class lecture material, internet resources and tutorials, text book reference, peer tutoring and critiques. Students will learn to write design briefs and design rationales.
Advanced students have the opportunity to be recommended for internships and mentoring through the SEMP project. Advanced students will create projects assigned by the instructor. Client projects will be assigned whenever possible. Dual credit available. Member of SkillsUSA.
The Career Technology Magnet is the answer to many parents concerns. For 100 years we have been teaching career skills, while it is just now becoming the "new thing in education". The Career Technology Magnet puts the "Tech" in Arsenal Tech H.S. "Students can study FREE at CTM and gain valuable skills, certifications, and on the job experience. This is education that would cost thousands at private post-secondary institutions. Our students can work in their field as they pay their way through college or they can graduate and begin earning in their career field immediately.
