MEET THE DESIGNERS

The Visual Design Program has been in existence, in its present form, for four years. In that time CTM Visual Design students have represented the Visual Design program and been the sole competitors from IPS in SkillsUSA. These students have consistently placed well in SkillUSA regional competition and advanced to the state SkillsUSA comeptition, where they have placed 5th, 4th and been the state champion in Advertising and Design two years in a row. State champions have represented IPS, CTM and the state of Indiana at the national SkillsUSA competition in Kansas.

Many graduates of CTM Visual Design have gone on to post secondary education in the fields of graphic design and marketing. We at the Career Technology Magnet are justifiably proud of our talented students!

Anthony 2012 Grad

Anthony just completed a third year in Visual Design and his senior year at Tech! He is considering a major in graphic design/multimedia at a college yet to be determined. A top student in Visual Design, Anthony has created many professional design solutions for our outside clients. In 2011, as a junior in his second year of Visual Design, he notably created a very professional postcard and poster for a comedy event associated with the Indy 500, benefiting Riley Children's Hospital. The client was thrilled with the quick turn around time (four days-and without a client meeting) and professional look of the comps and finished piece. We look forward to posting his senior capstone project, a multimedia PSA on drinking and driving. Anthony excels at research, design, and understanding the target market of his client. With his talent, keen sense of design and style, Anthony is a young designer to watch.

Maria 2012 Grad
Maria is one of only two students to take an optional full third year of Visual Design. Maria is a 2012 Tech graduate, National Honor Society member, recipient of the 2012 Tech Alumni Scholarship, trainer for the football team, AP student and more- all while working!In junior year Maria was selected to participant in the SEMP mentorship project.Due to her professionalism, knowledge and talent, Maria had companies inviting her to intern with them in her senior year. Sadly Maria's athletic commitments, workschedule and AP schedule prevented her from taking advantage of this unprecedented honor. Check out her senior capstone project on the gallery page-coming soon!
